PROJECT CONNECT participated in the 15th Hydra Shipping Conference on September 14th 2024. During the 3rd segment, the imaginative slogan “TAKE US WITH YOU CAPTAIN: THE ADOPT A SHIP PROGRAM” dominated. At the start of the corresponding Panel, the founder, Ms. Irene Notias, presented a song written by the students of the 1st Primary School of Florina and composed with the help of Artificial Intelligence, thus connecting the theme of the Conference with the advancements of technology in education.  Afterwards, Dr. Adamantia Spanaka, Educational Consultant of PROJECT CONNECT presented the progress of the "Adopt A Ship" Program, licensed by the Ministry of Education, Religion and Sports, during the last seven (7) years of its continuous implementation, having benefited over 14,000 Primary, Secondary and Nautical EPAL (Vocational schools) students from all over Greece, while emphasizing the importance of Artificial Intelligence tools and the innovative activities developed by PROJECT CONNECT, such as the CV Platform and the 3D Virtual Shipping Company Tour.

Following the Panel, representatives of Hydra High School presented their activities within the framework of this Program, which they implemented in their school during the 2023-2024 school year, characteristically defining it as "Adopt a Ship: the meeting of Education and Shipping". Mr. Evangelos Pantelis, Director of Hydra High School explained that the choice of the specific action was aimed at changing the traditional learning environment and the interdisciplinary approach to knowledge.

Afterwards, Mrs. Konstantina Loulou, philologist and coordinator of the action, presented in detail how it was implemented. Among other things, she described the particular activities with which the program was framed with the ultimate goal of helping the students learn about shipping and professions related to the sea as best as possible.

At the end, representatives of the student community presented projects created by them and their classmates.
